Communicating with Influence

The term ‘influencer’ is often associated with social media following, and refers to those ‘followed’ by others, for a range of reasons. This workshop digs into the science and nature of ‘influence’, with a focus on communication styles, exploring why influence in communication really matters, and how to use tools of influence.
This is an opportunity to explore exactly what communicating with ‘influence’ means for you and for those you may be seeking to influence.
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
Define the term ‘influence’ and discuss the difference between ‘influence’ and ‘persuasion’.
Explore models of influence and persuasion and findings in neuroscience about influence.
Share and discuss different communication styles using a report compiled prior to the commencement of the workshop, on DiSC behavioural profiling. (This is a customisable option)
Practice and demonstrate various useful models of influence and persuasion in written and spoken communication.
